Martin Overington

Martin is an archetypal entrepreneur. As if running the very successful and fast paced Stenball group construction company wasn’t enough to keep him busy. Martin became a shareholder of Classic Grand Touring in 2012 and has been very hands on and influential in it’s operation ever since. Martin is a ‘dyed in the wool’ petrolhead regularly campaigning his Blower Bentley at Le Mans Classic or demonstrating his Porsche 962 at events round Europe.

Martin completed the purchase of the Hotel de France in la Chartre-sur-le-Loir at the end of 2013. This iconic hotel is steeped in Motorsport history, with John Wyer basing his Aston Martin, GT40 and Mirage race teams there through the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. The hotel has undergone a sympathetic refurbishment and is now getting rave reviews from those that stay there.

More recently, Martin’s latest venture is the Barley Mow pub at Tilford. Once the favourite watering hole of F1 racer Mike Hawthorn. This quintessentially English pub looks out over the cricket green and sits alongside a pretty stream. Watch this space for future classic car meetings here.

Classic Grand Touring is proud to be bonded to the Association of British Travel Agents through ABTOT meaning that you are protected as a customer if something goes wrong. ABTA is the UK’s largest travel association, representing travel agents and tour operators that sell £32 billion of holidays and other travel arrangements each year. As a company ABTA has been a trusted travel brand for more than 65 years, offering advice and guidance to you, the travelling public, as well as leading the travel industry in supporting high service standards, working with their members on health and safety, and promoting responsible tourism at home and abroad.

Once you’ve planned your holiday with Classic Grand Touring, you can relax knowing that your booking is bonded through ABTA's Code of Conduct. This means that in the extremely unlikely event that we as a travel company were to go out of business, there is a quick, clear and simple process for you to follow, so you’ll be able to continue your holiday as planned or get your money back.

Well-known financial protection schemes include ABTA’s own scheme as well as ATOL which covers all flight-based packages. Many ABTA Members also offer additional financial protection for services such as hotels or flights, which may not automatically be protected under a scheme. If you book your holiday from outside the UK, this protection won't apply but other schemes may apply.
