The Geneva Run - For the E-type Club
E-type Club members have been exclusively invited to the Concours d’Élégance Suisse to celebrate 60 years of one of the most famous automobiles every created. Our invitation comes from Mathias Dontreleau, the Co-Founder of the Concours, who conceived the event to celebrate automobile heritage and the art of mechanical engineering. The setting for the event is the grounds of the Château de Coppet in Geneva which offers stunning panoramic views of Mont-Blanc and Lake Geneva.

THE ITINERARY:
Monday 14th June | Eurotunnel, Folkestone to Hotel La Chartreuse du Val Saint Esprit, Béthune
The tour commences at the Eurotunnel Flexiplus lounge in Folkestone ready for our afternoon crossing to Calais. Upon arrival, we will have time to introduce ourselves to one another and visit the lounge for our complimentary snacks and refreshments before boarding the train.
Having arrived in Calais, we will head straight for the French D-roads where we have 58 miles to cover before reaching our first overnight stop, the Hotel La Chartreuse du Val Saint Esprit. The hotel is a listed historical monument which has retained its elegance and historical past.
Upon arrival at the hotel, we will park the cars in a private area in front of the hotel before enjoying our welcome aperitif on the lawn. Dinner this evening will be served in our private dining room within the Robert II gourmet restaurant.
Tuesday 15th June | Hotel La Chartreuse du Val Saint Esprit, Béthune to Hostellerie Briqueterie, Epernay
This morning we will depart the hotel around 09.30hrs for our drive down to Champagne. We will follow the route Bob Berry drove through Saint Quentin, Laon and onto Reims before arriving in Epernay, the heart of the Champagne region. The drive should take around 4 hours plus a stop for lunch en-route. Before arriving at the hotel, we will all meet at the famous old pit buildings in Reims and line the cars up for a wonderful photo opportunity.
Upon arrival at the hotel, we will have plenty of time to settle into our rooms before a welcome glass of Champagne in the gorgeous hotel orangery. Our 3-course dinner this evening will be served in the hotel restaurant including wine.
Wednesday 16th June | Hostellerie Briqueterie, Epernay to Le Montrachet, Beaune
Today our drive takes us further along the route used by Bob Berry through Chalons-en-Champagne, Saint Dizier, Chaumont, and Dijon. We will depart the hotel around 09.30hrs and begin our 220-mile route down to the fabulous Le Montrachet Hotel just south of Beaune.
We will lunch halfway en-route before arriving at the hotel this evening. Le Montrachet is in the heart of Burgundy and the vine-rich surrounding area in the heart of this world-famous wine producing region. The hotel restaurant is highly acclaimed, and you can expect gastronomic delights at dinner this evening.
Thursday 17th June | Le Montrachet, Beaune to La Reserve Hotel & Spa, Geneva
After enjoying a hearty French breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for our next destination, Geneva. Today’s drive begins heading south to Chalon-sur-Soane and onto Macon where we will head off-piste through the Parc Naturel Haut-Jura to the town of Nantua and onto Bellegarde sur Valserine before crossing the border into Switzerland.
Having crossed the border, the final part of our route takes us into Geneva where we are booked into the fabulous 5-star lakeside La Reserve Hotel & Spa for the next four nights. After arriving at the hotel, unpacked, and settled into our rooms the evening is free for you to explore the city or head down to see Lake Geneva. Dinner this evening is of your own choosing, but we will recommend nearby restaurants.
Friday 18th June | Concours d’Èlégance Suisse Day 1
Today, we will depart the hotel on a 15-minute drive to the Concours d’Èlégance Suisse at the stunning Château de Coppet, on the south side of Lake Geneva and a Swiss heritage site of national significance. The picturesque venue offers a stunning view of both Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc. This morning, you have been entered into the Tour d’ Èlégance, a 70km leisure drive skirting Lake Geneva, stopping off for a fine lunch at a surprise location.
Following lunch, participants of the Tour d’Èlégance will proceed to the Tour d’Èlégance finish line at the Château, where they will park on the Concours Lawn for the evening. At 18:00 the Concours d’Èlégance inaugural party begins, where you can enjoy the vast array of food and drink the venue has to offer.
Saturday 19th June | Concours d’Èlégance Suisse Day 2
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will again depart for the Château which opens at 09:00 for entrants, invited guests and media for the judging of the Concours cars proceeding at 10:00. The opening ceremony of the event will begin at midday, which is also the opening time for the public. After enjoying the grand opening ceremony, you can enjoy a fine VIP private hospitality lunch on the Concours Lawn in the Culinary Pavilion served with Drapier Champagne.
Following lunch, you will have time to view the selection of cars at the event. There will be many other car enthusiasts at the event so the conversation will not fall short when discussing your E-types. The Château de Coppet will serve a traditional Afternoon Tea at 15:00 before the Concours lawn closes at 17:00. This evening, dinner will be at the hotel restaurant in our private dining room.
Sunday 20th June | Concours d’Èlégance Suisse Final Day
Following breakfast this morning, we will depart for the final day of the event. This morning entrants can enter the Concours Lawn from 08:00, where judging will be finalized by both the Authenticity Jury and Èlégance Jury in preparation for the awards ceremony. At midday, a private VIP hospitality lunch will once again be served on the Concours lawn in the Culinary Pavilion served with Drapier champagne.
After lunch, the awards ceremony will begin where the expert Jury of historians, journalists, designers, and racing drivers will assess each car according to the traditional charter used at Concours d’Èlégance.
After the awards ceremony, you may return to the hotel or carry on into Geneva for dinner. Dinner tonight will be of your own choosing, but we will recommend restaurants if needed.
Monday 21st June | La Reserve Hotel, Geneva to Radisson Blu, Andermatt
After enjoying our final breakfast at Lake Geneva, we will depart for some stunning alpine driving to our next destination, Andermatt.
Our route today skirts Lake Geneva before joining the Route de Mosses which provides some incredible views and driving roads. We will stop en-route for a bite to eat before carrying on to Andermatt before joining the famous Susten Pass which will provide some very enjoyable driving. Our accommodation for the next two nights is the Radisson Blu in Andermatt, a lovely modern hotel with stunning mountain views.
Having arrived at the hotel, we will have plenty of time to settle into our rooms before meeting downstairs in the hotel restaurant for dinner.
Tuesday 22nd June | The Alpine Loop
Luckily for us, the Radisson Blu is surrounded by some of the most spectacular roads and passes along with some great locations for lunch.
Today you will be enjoying one of the best alpine loops in the world. Known as the big three, the Grimsel, the Nufenen and Susten all loop to and from Andermatt and you will be lucky enough to drive them all. The drive will take us around three hours and is an optional drive should you prefer to enjoy the swimming pool at the hotel instead. Lunch is included today at the top of Mount Stanserhorn via a short cable car ride where we will be joined by the Swiss members of the E-type club.
Having arrived back at the hotel, you will have time to enjoy the hotel facilities for the remainder of the afternoon. This evening dinner is of your own choosing either in one of the hotel restaurants or in a local restaurant a short walk away in the town.
Wednesday 23rd June | Radisson Blu, Andermatt to Les Violettes Hotel & Spa, Alsace
After breakfast, we will depart the hotel for our next destination, the Alsace region in France. Our drive takes us through the Swiss mountains leaving Andermatt, through scenic Switzerland to the French border and into the Parc Naturel Regional des Ballons des Vosges, a beautiful French national park providing stunning views, surrounding mountains and spectacular roads.
Your hotel tonight will be Les Violettes, a hotel and spa based in the mountainous countryside of Alsace. After settling down, you have time to visit the many relaxation and wellness facilities Les Violettes has to offer, such as bio-saunas, salt grottos, a Kneipp basin and heated indoor and outdoor pools. Dinner tonight will be at the Restaurant Le Jardin de Violettes at Les Violettes which offers a blend of traditional French cuisine with a contemporary twist.
Thursday 24th June | Les Violettes Hotel, Alsace to La Citadelle Hotel, Metz
After a day of relaxation at Les Violettes, we will depart for our next destination, Metz. Our drive this morning takes us through two beautiful natural regional parks and skirts the German border before arriving in Metz. This evening, we will be staying at the Citadelle Hotel in Metz, a four-star establishment based in the heart of Metz, a short walk from the Moselle River running through the centre of the city. Tonight, we will be dining at the hotel’s own highly acclaimed restaurant ‘La Table’ for a stunning final dinner.
Friday 25th June | La Citadelle Hotel, Metz to Eurotunnel, Calais
After our final breakfast, we will depart for the Eurotunnel Calais Terminal where we will board the Shuttle to Folkestone. You are booked on a Flexiplus basis meaning you can turn up and receive priority boarding at your leisure. If you would like to add an overnight stop to break up your drive on your way up to Calais, we would be more than happy to arrange this for you.

How to book or reserve your place on any of our events, trips & tours:
Booking your place on this event couldn't be easier. The first step would be to complete the online enquiry form and we'll call you back to get you signed up.

Once we have discussed your individual options, we will send you a booking form which when completed gives us all the necessary information about you, your co-driver and your car as well as other useful extras such as dietary requirements and special requests that you might have.
You can secure a place on any of our tours, road trips or driving adventures with a deposit of just £500 per person. There's no need to worry about paying anything more until the final balance is due (usually around 8 weeks before we travel) and you're welcome to pay your final before that date if preferred. If the event you wish to join is within the next 8 weeks, we will require the full payment to be made at the time of your booking.

Minimum numbers
We have a minimum number of participants required for all of our events enabling them to be viable for us to run - this is usually 10 cars unless stated otherwise. In the event that we don't reach the minimum numbers, the tour may be cancelled at which point your booking deposit will be refunded to you, or if preferred, allocated to another event of your choice.
