An optional extension to the fabulous Grand Prix de Pau Historique Tour taking in 3 days of stunning mountainous driving at the very top of the Iberian Peninsula.

This three-night extension visits three excellent hotels. Our first night is spent in the mountains in the town of Boltana before dropping down into Pamplona for our second night. Our final night is spent on the seafront in Hondarribia as recently featured in ‘The Trip to Spain’ with Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan.

Monday 1st June | Pau to Boltana
Today you will experience a full day of beautiful Pyrenean driving. Having checked out of the hotel around 09:30hrs, we will clear the main roads of Pau and very quickly join the D934, aka the Col du Pourtalet. This road is fast, wide, open and scenic with the most beautiful views of Ossau Valley. The second half of our journey takes us across the border into Spain before joining the Eje Pirenaico (N-260) en-route to the hotel. Having checked in, dinner with wine is included at the hotel this evening.

Tuesday 2nd June| Boltana to Pamplona
Today we have another day of spectacular Pyrenean driving planned en-route to the fabulous Hotel Castillo de Gorraiz Golf and Spa. We have around 4 hours of driving to do and will leave the hotel after breakfast and re-join the N-260 before heading up into the mountains towards Pamplona. The roads are once again full of stunning views so don’t forget your camera! This evening is free for you to enjoy dinner at your leisure.

Wednesday 3rd June | Pamplona to Guipúzcoa
Timings allow for a more relaxed day today and an early arrival at our hotel in Hondarribia. We continue our scenic drive from the hotel via Lake of Eugi before heading towards Hondarribia. Once again, your Tour Manager will show you around the town and to a couple of local wine bars down the cobbled streets.

We have organised a fabulous menu at a local restaurant this evening with wine included.  The Parador Hondarribia overlooks the harbour and boasts incredible ruins which have been beautifully retained within the design of this hotel. The hotel also featured on the BBC programme ‘The Trip to Spain’ with Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan.

Thursday 4th June | Hondarribia to Bilbao | 80 Miles
Today we use the Autoroutes and most direct route to Bilbao to catch our afternoon and overnight sailing to Portsmouth. The ferry docks in Portsmouth in the afternoon of Friday 31st May.

How to book or reserve your place on any of our events, trips & tours:
Booking your place on this event couldn't be easier. The first step would be to complete the online enquiry form and we'll call you back to get you signed up.

You can secure a place on any of our tours, road trips or driving adventures with a deposit of just £250 per person and there's no need to worry about paying anything more until the final balance is due which is usually around 8 weeks before we travel. Of course, you're welcome to pay that before that date if preferred. If the trip, tour or adventure you're planning to book is within the next 8 weeks, we will require the full payment to be made as our suppliers (hotels, ferries and flights etc) usually request payment from us at this time.

We will then send over a booking form which when completed gives us all the necessary information about you, your co-driver and your car as well as other useful extras such as dietary requirements and special requests

Prefer to have a chat over the phone? Give us a call on 01926 675 675

Minimum numbers
We have a minimum number required for all of our events for the trips to be viable for us as a company. This is usually 10 cars unless stated otherwise. In the event that we don't reach the minimum numbers, the tour may be cancelled at which point your booking deposit will be refunded, or if preferred, allocated to another tour of your choice.

You're Protected
As with all of our tours and events, this tour is protected by our ABTOT bonding and we provide financial security for flight-inclusive tours with our very own ATOL. For more information on our travel bonding, please see our dedicated webpage:
